What's the deal with DV8 Productions?Dv8 Productions was founded in October 2014 by Virginia Woodall (pictured on the right) so that she can keep bringing the comedic art she loves to Toronto. She has studied at the Second City Training Centre and an enthusiastic member of the Toronto theatre and comedy communities.
Dv8 aims to create comedy that deviates from the routine. Their passions are comedic productions in a variety of alternative styles, formats, and venues, or at least to bring as many different styles and formats as possible into a traditional venue. Dv8's past productions include an improv competition show "Battle Silhouettes" (monthly 2015-2016), 2015's "She Said Yes" by Virginia Woodall, at the Toronto Fringe Festival, filming for Ben Wander's game "A Case of Distrust" (buy it on steam here), and supporting production 2019's "Sincerely, The Rebels Club" in partnership with Once More with Feeling Productions, at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Virginia is currently producing: "Comedy on the Water" is a sailing stand-up comedy show aboard a pirate ship! The show started with its first sail in June 2018, continued monthly in the summer for 2018 and 2019. In 2020 it's back for some small audience sails in August (and maybe in September, too). |
